How to Swing to All Styles of Music

Work on incorporating swing elements to all styles of music. Some songs make rhythms and footwork come naturally, while others may confuse you. We will share the WCS roots to help navigate the different trends in music today, and develop a deeper understanding of how to adapt our movement while staying true to the dance.

Easter Swing Judging Intensive with Kelly Casanova
Dates: All weekend (Schedule TBD)
Why Join?
Want to become a judge or gain a deeper understanding of competition judging? This intensive program is open to all skill levels and provides expert training from one of the most respected judges in the swing dance community. The WCS community needs you and individuals who want to help grow the community.
About Kelly:
Kelly is a two-time US Open Champion (Classic and Jack & Jill) and an inductee into both the World Swing Dance Council and California Halls of Fame. She has over 45 years of teaching and competing experience and 30+ years as a judge/Chief Judge. Kelly has achieved the highest level of certification from the WSDC as a Master Chief Judge. She is also the current chair of the WSDC Chief Judge Committee.

- Logistical strategies, philosophical considerations, and professional ethics
- Covers judging various divisions
- 10+ hours of lecture, Q&A, video reviews
- Real-life judging experience during competitions
Important Things to Know:
- Must register in advance, not at the door.
- Must have a full weekend pass to Seattle Easter Swing 2025
- May compete in all competitions for which they qualify under Seattle Easter Swing rules
Cost: $300 includes all classroom and judging time and materials.

- Late night Saturday Session midnight-1am Sunday morning (This may be cancelled if needed for Judging staff)
